castlepoint lsp: creating futures together

developing your community

What We Do

The Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) brings together groups of people from within the Castle Point community including voluntary groups, public services, individuals with specialist knowledge, heads and governors of schools and educational institutions, Canvey Island Town Council and Castle Point Borough Council. The membership of the groups has been specifically chosen to include key members of the community in order to ensure that the groups can be most effective.

In order to deliver our 9 ambitions for the Borough we run a number of groups each with one or more specific focuses. We appreciate that often the issues dealt with by the groups are very much related and so membership and focus often overlap. These groups work very closely together to deliver the 9 ambitions for the Borough The groups are:

Castle Point LSP Executive Board - responsible for setting the vision for Castle Point and ensuring delivery of the Sustainable Community Strategy.

Stronger Communities Partnership – responsible for ensuring that Castle Point is a friendly Borough where all are welcome and are able to enjoy the same opportunities.

Health & Well Being Partnership - responsible for ensuring that all of Castle Point’s communities have good health and well-being.

Crime & Disorder Reduction partnership – responsible for improving community safety and reducing crime across the Borough.

Children and Young People 0-19+ Partnership – oversees and sets the framework for all local partners in ensuring children and young people are healthy, safe and able to fulfil their potential.

Employment, Skills & Business Group – to coordinate the work on the various dimensions of transforming our economy, through, good transport links, education, skills, support for local businesses and the regeneration of the Borough.

Sustainable Communities Partnership - to preserve and improve biodiversity and the historic environments and to increase the recycling and composting of domestic waste and to increase the amount of waste recycled.

All the groups normally meet every four to six weeks. We publish all the details of meetings and events on our website here.
